Slidewalk

I didn't take the SLR camera to work today.  I figured the sidewalks would be pretty icy and didn't want to fall with the camera on my shoulder.  Instead I had the point-and-shot camera with me (it does a pretty good job). While I had assumed there would be ice on the sidewalks this was a little more than I was expecting!

I was walking along the path, the best I could, and it just struck me as funny how ridiculously bad they were plowed (or not plowed).  So, I back tracked about 20 feet and pulled out the camera to document it.  I will add that when I left work and walked along the same path, it had been plowed.  It was still icy but it was at least a flat surface.  I have no idea how they chiseled away that much ice.

To be honest, that wasn't even the worst part of the commute.  The wind chill factor was down right painful!

  1. Brrr! I’m cold just looking at it.

  2. Brrr indeed! It’s pouring rain and windy here in San Francisco… but I’ll take it any day over ice and wind chill. The sky is a beautiful shade of blue, though. Nice shot, Jamie!

  3. Hi Melissa:
Thanks for checking out the blog. It’s only December and I’m already tired of the snow. I think it’s going to be a long winter.

  4. Seasons build character. I don’t trust anyone from the west coast.

  5. Ooh, I love the angle/perspective. The curiously plowed sidewalk looks like its own landscape. I really like this.
