Okay, I think I've had enough snow for a few days! This was taken during the first storm last Thursday. I didn't realize it would be so hard to actually capture the snow falling. It was snowing quite hard yet in most of my photos you can hardly tell. It seems you have to have enough contrast in the background for the snow to show up. Makes sense since the snow would just blend into a white background.
I suppose the little boy on the left must be ice fishing. I never understood ice fishing. I think men thought it up as an excuse to get away from the women folk and go out and drink. I don't know many (actually, I don't think I know any) women who would jump at the chance to sit out in the cold, chip away at the ice and wait, and wait, and wait, for a hungry fish to come along. Then again, I could be wrong. Maybe it's just me, but sitting on a bucket out in the cold doesn't sound very exciting. Then again I don't drink so that might make all the difference!
Disclaimer: I mean no offense to anyone who enjoys ice fishing. It's just one of those things I will leave to others and don't feel the need to experience for myself.
