Photo Walk 2012: Landing

This was the 5th year for the Scott Kelby World Wide Photo Walk. I have signed up for the walk every year. On the same day, all over the world, people have signed up to go on a photo walk. Two of the years I walked in Boston. One year I walked at World’s End in Hingham and last year I walked in Marshfield at the fair ground. This year the closest walk to me was Boston. Since I’m in Boston all week long I wanted to try a different location. I saw one listed for Hyannis and decided to sign up for it, even though it was at 7:45am. I figured Maya would have me up early any way.

Of course it happened to be the coldest day of the month at only 32 degrees! I pulled out my long johns, grabbed my hand warmers and was ready to go. It actually wasn’t so bad once you started walking and we were lucky to have the sun shining on us.

I have one week to pick a photo and submit it to my group leader for him to choose who in our group had the best photo of the day. I don’t do the walk for the contest but I figure I might as well submit a photo. I never have one photo that really jumps out at me. I’ve narrowed it down to 5 photos and will post them this week. By Friday I’m hoping those that visit the blog can help me decide which photo to submit.

As I mentioned, I signed up for the Hyannis walk. We walked a little of Main Street and then walked down to the harbor. I thought this shot showed a little action.

  1. You should title this shot ‘Guest Only’

  2. Nice shot. Glad to hear it wasn’t too bad temperature-wise once you got going 🙂 Love the shape of its wings…have you taken a look at this image with all but the bird cropped out?

  3. Jack, you’re probably right, “Guest Only” would have been a better title.
Shirley, I did not try cropping it with just the bird. I liked seeing that he was about to land on the pole. But it might be worth looking into- thanks.
