Look Up, Look Down, Look All Around

The amazing thing about Italy is that there really is something spectacular to see no matter where you look. I’m surprised I didn’t walk into something the way I was wandering around looking everywhere but in front of me. I’m still amazed by the fact they built buildings from the bottom to the top of the cliffs, layer upon layer.

The top photo is looking up at one of the many hotels. I have no idea what the middle building is except in my head I keep thinking ’emerald forest’. I would have loved to have been able to explore this castle(?). The bottom photo is yet another view of the cliffs of insanity Sorrento.

Next week we’ll visit the Isle of Capri.

I especially love the first 2 pics. The cliff picture though, makes me want to go so I can experience the amazingness (insanity 🙂 for myself.

Shirley, wait until you see the cliffs of Positano and Amalfi as well as Capri. Those are really insane!! While I’ll try to explain the bus ride up it’s really something that you have to experience for yourself to understand the shear terror of it.

Hotel Antiche Mura, adjacent to the building in your middle picture, has some information in their brochure. “At the summit of the chasm are the remains of a 16th century fortress. Deep below, are the remains of the Old Mill of Sorrento.”
I would love to explore that site too!
