Red Hydrant

I believe this is the original First Church of Christ, built in 1894.  The domed extension was added in 1906.  Alone, this church looks as if it is a fairly good size.  However, once seen beside the extension you can see how it is dwarfed by the enormity of the dome.  Refer back to my River Thames photo, to see the difference.

I find it to be a beautiful church.  I love the juxtaposition of the red fire hydrant to the gray stone church.  The stained glass window is beautiful.  I like how the brillant blue sky enhances it even more.

  1. That blue sky is amazing. The front of the church looks two-dimensional, a cool effect.
