The expression on this pilgrim’s face looks to me as if he’s about to tell someone a story that has a lesson to it. More than likely the story was about the voyage across the sea. I get the feeling he’s a very wise man.

I think the people who reenact the pilgrims have wonderful photographic faces. My favorite shot is from last year. This Mayflower sailor had so much character to his face.
