Head End

This is the turtle from yesterday's blog.  I wish there was an object, besides the turtle, in the frame so you could have a better perception of how large she is.  In this photo she looks like a little turtle, while she was actually a pretty good size- somewhere around a foot wide and almost 18 inches long.

As you can see she almost blends into the surrounding dirt. I almost walked right by her that day but something caught my eye. At first I wasn't sure she was even real. After staring at her for close to a minute she finally moved.

Turtles have such wise-looking faces. I am surprised to know that turtles this large are living in Boston!

  2. I was very surprised to see a turtle this large in Boston. Which is why I didn’t think it was real when I first saw it.
If she was laying eggs I hope I’m able to catch a glimpse of the babies.

She gives Turtle Neck a whole new meaning!

  4. This is a really cool photo of a turtle. And it cracks me up that you almost didn’t see it and then had to stare at it to see if it was real. Mother Nature has provided some good camouflage for this guy!
