We decided to take the other way down from the overlook. This involved crawling through a hole, going down a spiral staircase, entering a tunnel through the crater and then finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Of course that light led to the steep stairs that we avoided in Diamond Head: Stairs, Going Up. We figured going down those stairs would be easier than going up them. The boy in the photo does not look very thrilled to be climbing up them. 

There was one guy who was using the stairs as his exercise. I can’t remember how many times he had said he had gone up and down them but it was some ridiculously high number. And then he said his wife had done even more!
