It’s hard to believe these cygnets are only a week old. I feel like I have been following their progress for months. I suppose it has been a few weeks since we had to wait for the eggs to hatch.
On Friday, I went to check on them with my aunt and the family was out for a swim. I think the parents were showing the babies off as they came right over to the shoreline. My aunt got a terrific photo of both parents and the six babies surrounding them. My aunt went back on Saturday and there were only 5 cygnets. Sad to see this happen but that’s part of nature and the animal that took the baby probably had it’s own babies to feed. I hope most of the cygnets are able to make it to adulthood.
