The last time I was out at Saquish (before this past weekend) was back in March. I had gone out with my aunt and uncle to check the property and see how much damage was done from the winter storms. There had been a lot of erosion with dunes completely gone and many cottages losing decks or staircases. It was very strange to see cottages so exposed without the dunes.
On Sunday, when I was at the beach we took a walk and once again the beach looked completely different. The homeowners had been given permission by the town of Plymouth to allow them to plow some of the sand back up to protect the cottages. Now when you walk the beach you can’t even see some of the cottages (as seen in the shot above). Right now it doesn’t quite look or feel like Saquish. I’m sure after a couple more times out to the beach and it will feel normal again.
