We had the memorial service Saturday for my cousin Laurel. It was very nice. One of my cousins said he felt kind of sad that he liked funerals. Not because the person passed away but that you get to reminisce about good times you had and you get to see relatives and friends you haven’t seen for a long time. As my Mom said, “a funeral should be a celebration of that person’s life.” The saddest thing is that the last time I saw some of the relatives was at the last family funeral. But a good thing that came out of the memorial service is that we plan on have a cousin get together in the next few months.
The above photo is a shot of Laurel’s two favorite things. M&M’s and the Red Sox (also the Patriots, she was a big New England Sports fan). I thought the M&M bouquet was just delicious :-). And the Red Sox urn is the perfect place for her to rest in peace. It’s hard to read the lablel but it says, “Major League Baseball Recognizes Laurel as a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox.”
