While I was in Florida they were just finishing up dredging Manatee Cove. I think this may have been why we were able to see the manatee so clearly. Usually, the water is very murky and we would only see a nose pop up out of the water but this year we could see the whole body of the manatee under water.

I think the cove was getting too shallow for the boats or maybe the boats are just getting too big for the cove!
