nICE horsey

Holidays in Halifax was this past Saturday night.  As always, they do a wonderful job.  If you've never been, it's a really nice walk around to the various open houses.  Halifax Congregational Church had bell ringers, St. David's Church had a live nativity, Halifax Elementary had the choir, Town Hall was decorated with a Victorian Christmas theme, the Fire Dept. had face painting and the boy scouts had a campfire and cider.  If you didn't feel like walking you could jump on the hay ride instead.

I enjoy seeing the historic buildings the most:  The Blacksmith Shop, Old Schoolhouse and the Brockton Store.  But, my favorite part of all is seeing the ice sculpture.  This year was even better than the last.  It's amazing that this is all made out of blocks of ice!  Bob Botto and Paul Lambert are the men behind the ice sculptures. I believe I overhead one of them say that the horses were named after ones Bob had owned.  Even carved out of ice, each horse has it's own distinct personality.

Stay tuned for more of Holidays in Halifax…
