A little Autumn left

I was sitting in my office, just after having come back from the Thanksgiving holiday, when I looked out the window and saw big fluffy snowflakes falling.  I didn't have my camera with me that day but figured I could just borrow work's camera.  Having been off for 4 days I just needed to finish up a couple of things, before taking a break.  As soon as I was done, I grabbed the camera and headed out doors.  As you can see from the photo it stopped snowing and turned to rain!  Since I was outside with camera in hand I figured I better find something to photograph.  This is what I found.

I don't recommend taking a camera out in the rain.  Which is why I borrowed work's camera!  Actually, if I had my camera with me I would have taken it outside.  I have a nice little slicker I bought for it, for such an occassion (plus to keep sand away from the camera).  Instead, for this camera I had to use a plastic Whole Food's bag.  It seemed to do the job.  A couple of rain drops on the lens but I remembered to clean the lens this time!

  1. I like the “time”-less quality to this picture. It’s hard to tell if it is before or after noon, or even dusk. It actually feels like that a lot to me these days with the shortening days and the sun arcing around our part of the world so low in the sky.

  2. In addition to the leaves still on the trees, the green grass also belies the fact that it’s nearly December in New England.
