Last week I was wondering what I’d have for photos for this weeks blog. It’s been raining a lot lately and I haven’t really felt like taking my slr camera to work. Then I realized that I always have the point & shoot camera with me and why didn’t I pull it out. Usually, it’s at the bottom of the book bag and I haven’t bothered to dig it out. Last Thursday I decided to pull the camera, put it in my pocket and then I’d have no excuses for not taking pictures.
Just about every day I get off at the Back Bay stop and walk the rest of the way to work. It’s about 1.5 miles and takes me about a half hour (crossing traffic, stopping for lights, etc.). It’s good exercise and helps to put me in a relaxed mood before starting work. This week, you get to come along on the walk with me.
This is a shot from the Mass Ave. side of the Southwest Corridor Park. The photo is looking back towards Back Bay. This section is approximately a half mile long. I hadn’t realized it but the park runs from Back Bay all the way to Forest Hill so I’ve only walked a small section of it. I’ll have to look into walking more of it.

Ooh, it feels like the beginning of Jamie’s Magical Mystery Tour!
I love how quiet this shot is…the juxtaposition of greenery and a modern cityscape.

Buildings make an excellent backdrop. Perfect!

I love this…if I can’t be in Boston in person, I’ll at least get to visit virtually! Nice shot too-l agree with Shirley-love the way the little park gives way to the urbanscape.

In tomorrows post I mention how I like this area because I feel as if I’m not walking through a city with traffic and noise all around me even though I am in the city. I was very happy when I stumbled upon this route.
