Trevi Fountain

“The central figure of the fountain, in front of a large niche, is Neptune, god of the sea. He is riding a chariot in the shape of a shell, pulled by two sea horses. Each sea horse is guided by a Triton. One of the horses is calm and obedient, the other one restive. They symbolize the fluctuating moods of the sea.” Reference: A View on Cities

Legend has it that if you throw a coin into the fountain that you will return to Rome. Chris, Karen and I each tossed a coin over our shoulder with the hopes of returning again someday. Actually, this was Chris and Karen’s second time to Rome. I’m assuming on their first trip they must have tossed a coin into Trevi Fountain and the legend of returning to Rome came true.
