In just a few weeks my nephew, Josh and my cousin, Taylor will be starting their senior year of high school! The previous weekend we went to Brewster Gardens in Plymouth to take their senior photos. I read up on outdoor lighting and had even taken a class on Fill, Flash and Reflectors and yet there is so much more I need to know or I need to practice more. I did get some nice shots of each of them but I had to rely on Photoshop more than I expected. I really want to get it right in the camera and then tweak it in Photoshop.
Yesterday, I took senior photos of my friend’s son Ryan. He is also going into his senior year at the same school as Josh and Taylor. Ryan benefited from my experience shooting Josh and Taylor but there are still things I need to do better when it comes to fill-flash. As hard as my job was trying to get the correct camera settings I think they had a harder time trying to put on a “natural” smile for more than an hour. Some of their expressions look as if they were in agonizing pain 🙂
Good luck, Josh, Taylor and Ryan! I hope you have a wonderful senior year!!
