We interrupt this week of Rome images with a special selection of photos from the 4th of July weekend. After weeks and weeks of rainy days we were blessed with two gorgeous days of sunshine. I spent most of Saturday out at Saquish basking in the sun. Saturday night I headed over to Chris and Karen’s house to meet up with the family to head down to the fireworks. It was Halifax’s 275 birthday celebration so they had a day of festivities and ended with a spectacular fireworks display. Sunday was another beautiful day so I decided I better take advantage of it and headed back down to Saquish for the day. Kevin, Jordan and Jena did a great job creating this patriotic sandcastle (Jordan’s design).
Thank you Aunt Jud and Uncle John for sharing your piece of paradise with the rest of us!

Very nice. I especially like the pics of the fireworks.

Yes, the fireworks came out well. I read a blog by Scott Kelby and on Friday he posted an article on “How to Shoot Fireworks.” I followed the steps and was pleased with the results.
Hope you had a great weekend.

What a great time and love the pics-I agree with Shirley…outstanding captures of the fireworks!

Love all of these images! Scott Kelby obviously gave great advice… and the sand castles look like they would have been soooo fun to build!

Looks like you had a great 4th of July! Wonderful photos.

Nice to see you work in some 4th of July festivities. Thanks for placing these into the mix!! The sandcastle reminds me of the Roman Colosseum. Delicate.. classic, and very elegant. By the way, your giving Jordan way too much credit! She was busy looking for sea glass while Dad was getting his hands dirty! Really…a good team effort all around!
