Droplets

I think this is the last shot from the little park near my work. Unless there happens to be another shot of a flower. With this shot I was experimenting with shutter speeds trying to capture the water droplets. It took a lot of shots to find the setting that I think worked best to see the water flowing. I need to do some more practicing with shutter speeds. I tend to keep the camera on aperature priority. I just noticed the camera settings say that this shot was taken on aperature priority so I guess I wasn't on shutter priority. Oh well, I obviously need to practice with the shutter speed.

Tomorrow I've signed up for one of the PhotoWalks in Boston. Basically, it is a social photography event where you get together with other photographers (50 in this case), walk around an area, shoot photos and then all go to a bar/restaurant to look at what each other captured for images. It should be very interesting.

Ooh, this is great—I love it! The blues and pinks pop nicely in the background, too.

  2. Nice picture, Jamie.
    Enjoy your walk tomorrow.

  3. Beautiful shot, Jamie…and I love the perspective! I tend to shoot in AP mode most of the time as well.
Wish I could go on that photowalk!!

  4. Susan, there’s also a Photo Walk tomorrow in Savannah. Looks like you could still signup:

  5. You’re going to like that Photowalks tour Jamie! I went on one a couple of years ago. I think it was the Freedom Trail One? You meet across from the statehouse. I have some pics I should post from it as well. Wow 50 people are going? Business must be picking up! I hope she (the person giving the tour) can handle that large of group!
At the time I went, we didn’t meet up afterwards. That must be something new as well. Let me know how that turns out.
    Great shot by the way.

  6. Hi Al. It was actually a special Photo Walk to promote Scott Kelby’s Lightroom 2 book. I think there were close to 300 locations putting on a Photo Walk. From the US across the world. Only 50 people could register per group. Boston had 2 groups to choose from. I’m not sure if this is something they will do every year or not. I’ll write more about it when I post images I took on the walk.
