Benton

This is Benton, he is a rescued puppy.  Apparently, the puppy farm he was born on sent him off to the animal rescue because he was too old?!  I guess most people want puppies at 8 weeks and then as they get older they aren't as easily adopted.  I don't know about you but this little guy is just the cutest, even at the old age of 12 weeks.

Benton's "dad" works in my office and brought Benton to work with him yesterday.  I was lucky enough to have Benton hang out with me for part of the day.  Although, he napped most of the time.  As you can tell from this photo he was pretty tired.  He even got a little annoyed with me, for taking so many pictures and having the flash disturb his sleep.  I should have explained to him that his picture might make it onto the blog (and it did).

  1. He is very cute. What kind of dog is he?

  2. He is a poodle/pomeranian mix. It’s called a Pomapoo. They have a name for every mix you can think of…we use to just call them mutts.

Exactly. All of these ‘designer breeds’ are nothing but mutts. They are ridiculous and are ruining breed standards. I’m sorry for getting off the subject at hand, but I have 4 dogs myself, and I’m rather passionate about all things canine.

Pomapoo? Hah! Not very dignified, but super cute! But not as cute as Luna (I’m slightly biased.) What would that make her – a Rotter-Lab? A Shep-Husky? Can’t tell you how many “Puggles” (Beagle/Pug) or “Golden-doodles” we encounter. Silliness. I love me a loyal mutt!

  5. The first time I saw a Golden-doodle I had to go up to the owner and ask her what it was. It was just a puppy and was the cutest ball of fuzz I had ever seen. It looked more poodle as it got older. I know a couple of people who have Puggles. They seem to be pretty popular. I’d rather have all Beagle.
