River Thames

Okay, it's not the River Thames.  However, when I took this photo it reminded me of the pictures I've seen of large castles along the River Thames.  Instead of a castle it's The Christian Science Church. And, while that's no river, it is a large reflecting pool.

I've always liked the architecture of this building.  I love buildings/houses that have shapes to them.  Of course this one has more shapes and angles than most…plus it's huge!

You probably think I did a lot of Photoshopping to the sky…actually I hardly touched it.  While I'm not thrilled that the weather is getting colder every day, it does make for beautiful, crisp, clear, blue skies.  It was probably only 36 degrees while I was kneeling on the ground, on the opposite side of the reflecting pool, to get this shot.  My fingers were frozen (and yes Mom, they were turning white) and the wind had my eyes tearing so much I could hardly see if the shot was in focus (not that I was too worried since it was on auto focus).

Soon I'm going to have to figure out what I can take for pictures indoors!

  1. WOW!!! At first glance it looks like an old amazing building in a flood. Really crisp and eye-catching. I love it!

  2. Thanks Shirley. There is something about this building that always makes me stop and just stare at it. I think I fiind something new in it every time I see it.
