This is a statue from the Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC. On our trip to Savannah we stopped for a day in DC. Since we had so little time we ended up taking a bus tour during the day and then another one at night. It was very interesting to see some of the same monuments at different times and what a difference it can make.
This shot was taken during the day. It was a beautiful crisp day, around 20+ degrees. It was one of the coldest winters that year. At night it was only in the low teens and most of my shots were blurry from my hands shaking. Anyway, this photo originally had a brilliant blue sky but it made it look too pretty. In person the monuments of the soldiers looked eerie but with the blue sky it changed the whole feel of it. So, I gave it this grayish look to try to change the mood to it. It still doesn't capture the mood but then I think you really have to be there in person to take it all in.
