Willowy Bridge

I love walking through the Boston Public Garden.  I could spend hours in here.  Walking around, watching the ducks, swans squirrels and relaxing on a bench.  It's amazing that the city is literally all around you, yet while inside the park it feels as if it's miles away (pay no attention to the buildings in the background).

I had to work the later shift on Wednesday so I was able to spend a little bit of time here.  It was probably around 10:00am when I took this photo.  While there were people walking through the park I was lucky enough to be able to get a shot of the bridge with no one on it.

You can see some of the water spots on my lens in the trees.  I did a little Photoshopping but didn't want to over do it.

  1. That’s a beautiful shot, Jamie.

  2. Wow, what a gorgeous photo. The colors are so beautifully muted, it looks like a pic taken much earlier in the day than 10:00 am! (I think the absence of any people in the shot adds to this impression.)
It looks almost like a painting. Very peaceful.

  3. I added a little color vibrance to this image in Photoshop Raw. In the original photo the colors were more muted and washed out but in reality this image is closer to what it looked like to my eye that day. I think it probably looks earlier in the day because the color vibrance added a tint more yellow to the image. Gives it a warmer feel than the harsher bluish tint of daylight.
Ahh, the beauty of Photoshop. This blog is as much about learning to use my camera as it is about fixing (or maybe it’s “creatively expressing”) images in Photoshop to look their best (or look their best to my eye).
