Museum of Fine Arts

Way back in November I chaperoned my nephew’s Digital Arts class to the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) in Boston. I had a lot of fun chaperoning and managed not to lose a single kid! The kids were funny- every room we entered they would run to the nearest bench and sit while a few of us walked around and actually looked at the art. I found it very interesting that they allowed an artist to come in and paint a painting of a painting. Then again they did allow me to take photos as long as I didn’t use the flash.

There is a new wing called Art of the Americas that was just opening at the MFA. Unfortunately, for us the wing was not opened to the public until the next day. Only members were allowed in the day we were there. I saw a review of it on Chronicle (or the news) that showed parts of the new wing and it looks spectacular. I’ll definitely have to go back and check it out.

That’s cool. I enjoyed hearing how the kids were behaving in the museum, too 🙂

  2. is it me or am i seeing the artist reflected not only in the painting on the wall, but in her painting and then the back of her head (hair) looks as if she is the woman in the painting!?
