I’ve been going to Florida on vacation for years now and I even lived in Florida for 9 months but up until this year I had never seen an alligator up close. That’s probably a good thing as I find them rather scary. Yet, I also find them fascinating to watch. I remember when I first moved to Florida the people I was staying with gave me a lesson on what to do if I came across an alligator while walking. I was told to zig zag while running away because alligator can move really fast in a straight line but have trouble turning. Of course , I doubted I would remember any of that if I was really being chased by an alligator.
Anyway, this was our first alligator sighting of the day. I’m not sure I would want to be in a kayak or a canoe with the alligators swimming along beside me.
