Even in winter there’s peace and calmness that comes over me when I’m by the water. I almost didn’t take this photo or the Tree by the Sea photo that everyone liked. I was driving through Kingston and decided to cut over to Duxbury to see what I could get for pictures. I drive over to Powder Point Ave/King Caesar Road (always beautiful) and saw the blue of this boat. The only problem was that I didn’t feel I could park on the curb (busy with traffic) so it meant I’d have to park down the street. It wasn’t far, but it was only in the 20s and I really didn’t want to get out of the car. I drove by twice and then finally made myself park and get out.
Of course, once I was out of the car and taking photos, it was worth getting cold. My goal had been to get this shot but it worked out that I got an even better one when I saw that tree. This happens a lot in the winter where I debate weather it’s worth going outside in the cold. I’m sure there are images that got away but I’m always happy when I am able to get a good winter photo.
