JETeye: Seeing Through Pictures- Year Five

No work today! Not because it’s my blog’s 5th anniversary but hurricane Sandy has shut down the city. Back to my blog…It’s really hard to believe that 5 years ago I started this blog. Last year I wrote: ” This year, by far, has felt like my least creative year. Life this past year seemed more hectic and out of balance and I don’t think I gave my photography as much focus or enthusiasm as I have in the past.” Five years ago, my first photo for the blog was of Fenway Park and the Red Sox won the World Series. This year, the Red Sox were in last place and it seems my enthusiam for the photos I took was also pretty low. Not that the picture taking is less enjoyable…actually, when I go out and take photos I find it calming. I just haven’t been “inspired” by my pictures. Maybe I just need a trip back to Italy to really inspire me 🙂

It took forever this year to figure out a photo for the anniversary shot. I like to try and be a little more create with the photo. I tried to take different photos with my hand as a high five, I took a shot with candles, but then I saw this “out of bounds” technique and I wanted to try it. I finally decided the photo above would work well with it since I didn’t have anything new to use.

Thank you again to everyone who follows my blog.
