What a beautiful weekend we had weather wise and yet I really didn’t go out and take any photos for the blog. I did take some photos of a friend’s nieces so that she can print and hang them. I’m still learning portrait photography so this was good practice. I couple shots came out but I still haven’t quite gotten the hang of outdoor fill-flash lighting. Of course I was working with kids and pets so it was tricky enough trying to keep them still and smiling while trying to play with the camera settings.

Anyway, this shot was much easier as it didn’t move and the lighting was very consistent. I like the contrast of the colors, the rich blue sky, bright green leaves and the strong black light post. I’m pretty sure I’ll stick with landscapes over portraits.
