Richard

This isn't the best exposed picture but it's more the story that goes with it.  I was sitting on a bench just getting my camera ready to take a picture of the tortoise when I heard someone say, "want to take a picture of me sitting on the turtle?"  I figured he was just joking with me so I jokingly said sure.  Next thing I know he's sitting on the turtle and I just clicked the picture (without checking my settings).  After snapping the photo he got off the turtle and sat next to me on the bench.  Of course he wanted to chat with me so I talked with him for about 5 minutes.

His name is Richard and while he use to write poetry he is writing a piece of fiction now that is going to be a big hit.  He also told me more information about his life than I probably needed to know.  I don't think he's homeless but I do believe he may have some issues with reality.  But he was nice enough to talk with me for a few minutes and allowed me this photo.

Good luck, Richard.

Funny Jack! Didn’t your Mom tell you not to talk with strangers, Jamie?

  3. You do realize Uncle Bob sometimes checks this blog out, don’t you?! Now that I look at it I do see a bit of Uncle Bob in him.
Yes, I don’t usually talk to strangers but he did let me take his photo so I felt I owed him a few minutes of my time. Plus, there was a police officer about 20 feet away, so I felt pretty safe.

  4. Rumor has it that ‘Richard’ and Uncle Bob have never been seen together in the same room. 😉

  5. Thank you,Melissa.Your comment was going to be my reminder. And I thought “Richard” was Winston Churchill.

  6. Actually, I think everyone encouraged me to talk more to people and not be so shy. To this day I still take candy when offered by strangers.

  7. That’s funny, my first reaction was also “Hey, it’s Uncle Bob!”
