Columbus Park

After last's weeks frigid weather (5°-10°), yesterday felt like a warm summer day (62°).  This left me with no cold weather excuse and so I had to get out there and take a picture.  This photo was taken at Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park.  As stated in it's name it is located along the Boston waterfront in the North End (and near the Aquarium).  This is only a small section of the wisteria covered trellis (currently covered in blue lights).  In the background is the Customs House Clock Tower.  I've always liked the look of the tower at night.  Whenever I drive through the city at night I look for it…sort of my beacon in the night.

I only wish I had had more time in the park before I started losing the light.  My plan was to leave work a little early but unfortunately a meeting ran late and I didn't get to the park until the sun had already started to set.  I'll definitely have to come back again when I have more time.

  1. Lovely shot – like the lights and composition!

  2. Great shot Jamie. I love the look of the blue lights with the city and dusk sky as a background.

  3. I’m glad you like the photo. Al, Thanks for checking out my blog. I enjoyed looking at your photos.
I loved the look of the sky. I was only able to take a few shots before the sky got to dark. Looking at it now I realize I should have darkened the bottom left area a little. The street lamp makes that area a little too bright and distracts from the rest of the image. Oh well, something for next time.

  4. Great angle, Jamie. I like how you combined the old with the new.

  5. Jamie, I really like the colors on that tunnel-looking thing. I’ve never been to Columbus Park and I don’t know where it is. But, I do know that it’s night.

  6. How did I miss this one?! I can see why it’s one of your all time favs! Beautiful!
